We’re thrilled to have been shortlisted in the Scottish Family Business of the Year Micro category at The Herald Family Business Awards 2026, in association with Business Gateway. These national awards celebrate family businesses from across Scotland and the part they play in the communities they serve, and we’re so proud to be named as finalists.

Let’s take a look back at how we got here – starting from the very beginning.

Our Beginnings in 2015

Our directors, brothers Frazer and Jamie, grew up watching their dad run a fish van in Gourdon, and it’s where they learned what it takes to run a business: turning up, working hard and building a reputation in the community.

Frazer put those lessons to work in 2015, when he started Cerretti Electrical on his own from his garage. Jamie joined him later, and the business primarily focused on domestic electrical needs for homes in Inverbervie and the surrounding area.

Ten Years of Growth: Where We Are Today

Ten people stand in front of a white van and a small building with Ferretti Electrical signage. Most are wearing branded work uniforms. The group poses on a paved area beside a quiet street.

In the past ten years we’ve grown from domestic electricians to solar panel installation specialists for homes and businesses across the region. We’ve gone from two brothers to a business with 10 team members, including two apprentices, now based at our very own headquarters in Inverbervie.

Being shortlisted at The Herald Family Business Awards follows a busy year for us. By September 2026, we had installed 780 solar panels this year, which is 20% more than we installed in the whole of 2025!

Delivering Solar Projects For Homes and Businesses

One project we’re particularly proud of is our work at the Bettridge Centre in Newtonhill, a vital community hub. We installed a 84-panel solar system and 23.2kWh battery, which has generated 56.33MWh of electricity since February 2025, saving the centre an estimated £12,000 to £14,000 through lower bills and export payments and avoiding 38,700kg of CO₂.

Meanwhile, in Arbroath, we’re delivering solar installations for a local housing association. The work began with 12 homes, with more than 110 panels installed across the first phase to help residents bring down their electricity costs. The team is now close to completing a second phase of 36 homes, with a further phase of around 20 properties proposed for next year.

Wish Us Luck!

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow, on Thursday 19 November 2026. We’d like to wish all of the nominees the best of luck and we look forward to celebrating with everyone on the night.
